This has been quite a year for learning. The first edition of Under the Wings of a Good Luck Phoenix was printed by BookBaby and was on sale February 8, 2016. I received many 4-5 star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads for both paper book and eBook.

The story was good, but the product needed work. I've spent most of 2016 improving Under the Wings of a Good Luck Phoenix by asking questions and listening to answers.

What did I learn?

  1. Book cover said nothing about a memoir. There was no picture on it of the girl who lived nine-remarkable life-changing months in Saigon.
  2. Book interior did not look professional. I needed to justify the margins, clean up the Table of Contents, properly number the pages and illustrations, and add a Book Club page. Under the Wings of a Good Luck Phoenix was a popular read for book clubs in my county.
  3. Author and Editor, Juris Jurjevics offered many editing suggestions to improve my story. Some were used. All were appreciated. Jurjevics read my book as research for Red Flags, his novel of soldiers and spies set in 1963 in the Highlands of Vietnam.

On December 9, 2016, I released the newly revised Under the Wings of a Good Luck Phoenix. Enjoy!
